got some Lip!

Area wide thank you for all the bday wishes, calls, comments, and treats the last few days. Didn't know my bestest Memphis friends would be celebrating my birthday all week long! Not really fair, since I'm the worst at remembering anyone else's bday.. as you probably know! So getting older can be fun after all.

Last night Matt, Jane, and Jessica joined me at Chili's to dig into dinner & the Molton Lava Cake, mmm. And every girl needs a princess balloon from her friends, right? Even more birthday cake eating tonight at community group as MaryDevan made her famous Lip cake. Yes, I said lip cake. Chocolate cake, peanut butter chips inside, melted icing on outside, and can you get more fun than a pair of lips? Way outdid Chili's dessert I do say. Maybe I'll begin that diet plan tomorrow...
Update pic of my neice AbbeyRae, enjoying her "playground" in the early morning. I think Rach has her ready for theatre these days! so cute.Other than work and some fun, I've been getting all my tax information together tonight. Its kinda fun looking through my records for possible deductions..$.. I learn more about this every year. Plenty of medical bills should help me out, and I didn't know professional license fees can come off too. Friend told me she saves all of her store receipts, adds up the total tax amount for that year and deducts that too. Guess its just being aware and very organized - which I'll do anything for returned $ !! Do you do your own taxes or have them done? Any other tips or deduction ideas? Happy tax season to you...
Left over Lip cake at mine & MaryD's house!!

When I moved, not that you'll be doing that, but I was able to deduct my mileage from Memphis to Chicago. I think the gov'ment rate now is around $0.40 per mile.
sorry, no additional tax write offs for ya, but it was super fun to get to hang out and extend your b-day last night! let me know if something fun is happening this weekend...and if not, maybe we can at least get a run in...muddy trails might be callin my name!!!
Any food you eat during work hours is totally write-offable! This adds up to a TON!! Even a cup of coffee... $2 adds up when you get one every day! And by the way- I'm SO jealous that you got to eat the Molten Chocolate Cake- that is my FAVORITE! Although the lip cake looks pretty darn good, too!!!! I'm glad you're having a good birthday week! You deserve it!
Tax deductions? I'm no help. I think you have to make money to deduct from it!
I do my own taxes. I also can walk you through sections of the tax code after I rocked my Fed. Income Tax class. As my tax teacher said every single class, "We tax once and only once. Any exception is found in the code." My other favorite tax rule which is quite helpful in law study is that "you are what you are on the last day of the tax year except dead."
Oh yeah, I would caution listening to people's advice on deductions and exemptions. I may sound like your dad, but I would say that it is best to talk to someone who knows what they are doing before going up against the IRS. They never lose.
I do my own and I should remind all you Tennessee and other no-state-tax-taxpayers to remember to deduct your sales tax on everything you bought this year, including cars, boats, and houses. I think this is the last year for it unless they change the tax code. It really does help! I think you have to itemize though...happy taxing!
I work for H & R Block and there are several write offs. Here in MO we get the option of writing off the sales tax or the tax taken out of the W-2s. If you have bought a big ticket item that could be the way to go. Be sure to remember EVERY state is different
