news & notes
Something is in the water. Here's a singleton pic from 2004, now 4 out of 6 are engaged! Do I have the wrong drink? My good Memphis friends are making it a big wedding year.. lots of excitement around here! Cool buddy Chuck & Meredith are getting married in April, my gurrrl MaryDevan & John are newly engaged! headed to the alter in July, and Matt & MaryJane have their wedding extravaganza this September, and one likely other I can't say. (its not me). I'm very excited for all my close friends, and have also instructed them to invite all tall singleton male friends to their weddings!. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

My sweetie niece AbbeyRae has learned to "talk" on the telephone now! Lots of babababa and adadada with phone kisses too. As an slp, she has very good initiation and verbal turn taking skills for her 12 month age! Rach told me she gave a clear "all-done" as well as "No!" the other day. I'm ready for a video phone!

We're doing a bible study book in community group about spiritual growth and training vs. trying. I like this from j.ortberg, "Training is essential for almost any significant endeavor in life--running a marathon, becoming a surgeon, learning how to play the piano. The need for preparation or training does not stop when it comes to learning the art of forgiveness, joy, or courage. It applies to a vibrant spiritual life just as it does to other activities. Learning to think, feel, and act like Jesus is as least as demanding as learning to run a marathon or play the piano. ...Transformation is a holy and mysterious process. It doesn't happen quickly, neatly, or predictably. But the promise of Scripture is that ordinary people can receive God's power for extraordinary change."

Hannah...
I love you comment from Ortberg. We studied this at LU but I haven't studied it in a while...maybe time for a refresher!
Hannah- thanks for the reminders about the power of God to transform us! You have NO idea how much I needed to hear that today!
Thanks!
Hannah,
I also love those fun conversations with Abbey. I wonder what she's really saying!
Love ya...mom
Great Blog Hannah! You will have to teach me how to do the spacing with the photos. I really like your layout and design. And, the content is good too!
Love,
DAD
You are one F-I-N-E single lady, and that man that finally catches you will be one LUCKY DUCK! :) I'm keeping my eye out for tall men around St. Louis! Good post Han! Love you!
Han it had everything to do with that picture. If you or J had been standing more center or left on the pic then wallah!! you would be the one getting married. Its that simple. The lesson learned is always stand on the left side of pics, which is actually the right side if your facing the camera. Just keep that in your back pocket for future use ;) Just noticed you are on the wrong side in every pic on your blog (exception of one-watchout), hummmmm verrrry interesting ;)
Hannah-Nice post! I love that quote; it's very insightful. It applies to time as well, I think. I give a lot of time to a lot of activites, but comparatively, not as much in Christian service. I agree-Abbey is so cute! I posted new pics of our little one this morning if you want to check him out. And don't rush-someday your prince will come...Think of all the fun things you can do until then! Love ya,
Tiffany (Mangan)

love ya!
