whats next?
Nice start to the morning! Would you believe I've had the police and a towtruck come by my house, all before 9am? I think its going to be a great day. This sounds silly, but I noticed my attic door had been moved 2 days ago and left partly open. I assumed my roomate Melissa did something up there. Last night I heard weird things while sleeping and had a scary dream there was a man hiding in my attic... After Melissa told me this morning she's never touched the attic door, I recalled coming home to an unlocked door 2-3 days ago.. I got freaked! Almost peed my pants freaked. It had definitely been lifted up, moved and not put back. Since I'm a scaredy cat and know crazy things can happen, I decided to utilize my police department to come check it out. -I didn't know who else to call. No way I was looking up there myself!! I had 3 cop cars here within 5 minutes which was nice, given no emergency. They looked around, probably thought I was crazy or am a serious sleepwalker... Glad to report, no one is hiding out in my attic and I will now be able to sleep tonight. shwoo! The old cop guy told me it could have been a strong gust of wind, so thats what I'll think- wind. Weird.
And in other news... I need a new car. Ok, I want a new car. It died on me last night again headed to MaryDevan's, coming off Sam Cooper onto South Highland. Exit ramp was a great place for it to stop, as was the location. After my ladies came to the rescue, one nice gentleman stopped and helped us push it out of traffic. AAA comes in handy too. Since the dealership wasn't open last night it had to be towed to my house, then another guy came to tow it this morning.
So far thats all, though I'm wondering whats next? My little compact rental car is like driving a go-cart in Memphis traffic.
What I meant to blog about last night was my sweet MamaLou who just had a birthday. I have so many awesome stories about why she's the best grandma in the world. My buddies Noah and Miss Jan also just had a birthday, and Jacob is coming up. So stay tuned for better blogging & pictures!

It's good to know that the police respond to our neighborhood so quickly...in case something really scary comes up! Concerning the car, you should go for the Beemer...Jason would approve!
i'm just glad you were ok...and it was a fun excuse to just hang out and catch up last night!
how funny did we look, 4 girls on an exit ramp with no clue! thankfully monica and waverly (was it?) were there to move your car...jessica and i were a huge help!!! "oh look, they're moving hannah's car, i hope he sees that ditch."
Miss Hannah - I think it's time you moved - like back to ST. LOUIS!!
Glad you're safe! love you, miss ann
Hannah- Wow... and I thought I had a bad day. Sorry that you had to deal with all of that, and I am glad that you are safe.
Maybe Ann is right...perhaps this should promote a move?
I have friends who live right by where your car broke down. Maybe I could give you their number just in case?
That is SO scary! I've called Nate crying before (well, a couple of times actually), because I thought there was someone in our house. Turns out we just have a really old creaky house, and it took me a while to figure out it's sounds! :) You really better move back to St. Louis and live with Sarah, because she knows all of those self-defense moves. hehe!
you're right, I'll just hire Sarah next time!! perfect ;) My day got even better- I didn't get to work until 2:15 today! The towtruck guy recommended a non-dealer volkswagen place, sounded great. Didn't know it would place me in sketchville for 1-1/2 hours waiting for enterprise to "pick me up". The VW mechanic, Ceasar, is a character out of Good Will Hunting. Came from Boston, filthy place, filthy mouth, he's been "sober for 3 months now". At least I have insurance, so if my car gets stolen its a ticket for a new one, right?
My afternoon eval I jumped into was a two-year-old, should have been a breeze, however this kid understands part Nigerian part English. Whats coming out of his mouth is an interesting mix... Good thing I'm bilingual with Nigerian language. Referral!
Traded in my compact car for a midsize... watch out for Han pimpin'in a Grand Marquis now!
Grand Marquis. Wow--you'll get all the guys now!! I did not know that you speak Nigerian. That is awesome.
Well, MJ told me that you want me to go with you to get the car. No problem. I ain't afraid of places here in Memphis. In fact, I know exactly where you took your car. I'll protect you, well, at least I'll be there to tell you when to run! However, don't ever call me if you think there are weird dudes living in your attic. There is no way I'm heading up there to find a hider in the house.
O.K. Hannah. We are all ready for pictures and better blogging!
Love,
DAD
