Hannah... here and there

Happy Cinco!

a lovely paradox: I strongly believe in updated blogs and dig my friends who keep me informed & entertained in respect to blogger. Ever keep checking a page just to get more frustrated that he/she hasn't updated it yet? Yep thats me. However, its my nature to occasionally skip out on things and revert to my thematic title, Hannah.. here and there. Must stay true to my name! Reminds me of the (my) cell phone/voicemail issue. Its great when you want it, but a pain to be accessible and responsible for messages 24/7 ..which by the way, ughm, I'm not if you haven't noticed. However I have grown.. started with avoiding voice mail set up, then to purposely keeping it filled up ("i'm sorry, this person's voice mail is full, click), then to "hi this is hannah, just call me back", and finally "this is hannah, call back or leave a brief message". Now I'm at the stage of just checking the darn thing about one a week. or two.

But I digress. All of this to say that if I've fooled you into thinking I'm a consistently disciplined person who likes routines and expectations and extra responsibilities, well, not so much. Can't let blogger become something I must do, or the fun is gone. So then... I'm off the hook. And will stop giving people a hard time for blogger neglect. I think may be one of them.

But while I'm here, in the recent news which is oh so exciting...
My parents and Rach's family are in California this week at the Pepperdine lectureships. I've gotten several phone calls from SuSu and Abbey to assure me they're having a good time in Malibu! I did have a very nice dinner time hanging out with Mr Dean and Ms Jan tonight. These are my "St.Louis grandparents" I've grown up with. We're practically related to the Patrick family, and it was a recent shocker that healthy Mr Dean was diagnosed with an metastic liver cancer; We're saying big prayers for him & the Patricks! We sure didn't like watching the Cardinals lose tonight. And even worse it was to the Astros Daddy Laddie..!

Cinco de Mayo tomorrow! Actually headed out after work with my speech path coworkers for happy hour at Tom's. Its been fun to rediscover St.Louis again. Never knew how cool downtown, southtown, and midtown could be. More on that later. Well sometime. Here or there you know.

here's a quiz picture appropriate for cinco de mayo... gotta guess?

I can't remember the "name" of this Mexican restaurant in St. Louis, but know it is on Manchester catty-corner from Kortwright (where we lived for 18 years in Rockhill, MO.) I also remember that Daddy Laddie ate there one time and complained that the salsa was really only "ketchup" with a little horseradish mixed in! He was not impressed! :-) That's what living in Texas does for your taste buds, eating Tex-Mex for almost 30 years! We sure do enjoy your blog, Hannah! Even if you don't enjoy seeing the ASTROS take the CARDS! :-) Love 'ya, Mama Lou & Daddy Laddie

HACIENDA MamaLou! ding ding, you win! I remember going up there with you as a little kid; you & Daddy Laddie were heavy dippers in the salsa saying this is ketchup!, and I would dip my chip 1/8 cm and complain of it being hot. Would you believe there were people parked all the way down to Grandma Opal's house for Cinco de Mayo last night at Hacienda? no kidding. I had a fun dinner there with Becky & Sarah last week, food was yummy. Maybe Daddy Laddy would be impressed to try it again. HOwever nothing like our landmark Nacho Mama's!
