Ski Break!

Ever feel like you need a vacation to recover from your vacation? I need just 2 more days in the snowy moutains... I think its where I belong! If I ever win the lottery or become a famous SLP (hah!), it won't be a surprise where I buy my mountain cabin. Running out of words for tonight, so here's plenty of pics...

Red Iguana is a SaltLake City must! My 3rd visit, and the mole' and enchiladas keep getting better. Its Frida's favorite place too. As Sarah says, Holy Mole'... Ski buddies above are Curt Bicknell, me, Sarah Hackett, Tim Grant, Adam Stevens.

Helmets & gear....check! My XL helmet looks so cute on tiny SHackett. Thumbs up gurrl.

Captain Curt in the Armada, subtle shades noted. Sweet ride Tim!!

Here's a great picture for "Blue Skies & Rainbows" song. Our second day we skiied SnowBird, which has awesome peaks & views of SaltLake City too. Hard to hold back when you feel like you're standing at the top of the world. Blues, Blacks, Diamonds, Squares - this place is a playground!

Hmmm, which way? Follow Ad & Curt... sure. Off the edge of a mountain... sure. Hard to not have fun with these guys! Never knew face plants & deep powder could be so stinking frustrating & funny. Snow angels anyone?

Me & my bro!

This is the place I consider my Alma Mater! The Canyons is where I "busted" last year and ended up recovering in the hospital for weeks. Much better to ski it this time & stick with my bro all day long. It was weird skiing "the run" - Arrowhead I think its called. Much steeper than I remember & I think I picked out where I flew off the side. MD can confirm it when she comes back next year..(!).. Again, I'm so thankful I don't really have vivid memories. I enjoyed all the runs going a little slower & under control! A song for you MD, "I like big bumps and I cannot lie..."

Look ma, I stayed out of the trees & survived The Canyons..yippeee.

Deer Valley on Sunday was snow snow snow! Awesome skiing.

Curt & Sarah above. Provided the laughter workout each day! ParkCity has wonderful restaurants... we dined well each night. very well.

Adam, Curt, & Tim riding up... these guys skiied hard!

Sarah Hackett started as a newby & became an experienced skiier by the end of the trip! The color of her jacket says it all. She kicked some booteh.

And no suprise... my favorite kid to ski with pictured above. Cheers to the helmets! And to an awesome safe trip. Also to Curt for the place, Tim for the ride, Sarah for the entertainent, Julie for the gear, Osborn's for the best night of company & dinner (worthy of seperate blog next), and my Dad for keeping semi-calm while we were gone. Can't wait to come back next year & join my Memphis ski team!!

Sounds like I just accepted an Oscar. Cheers!

It was such a fun trip- what a great way to start off my skiing career- you know I am going get a helmet and become professional next year.... hopefully by then, you will have all of your luggage returned from THIS ski trip! You're the best!

Hannah,
Oh I'm so jealous! I miss those skiing days! Tim and I are just going to have to put balloons on the babies for their bunny hill class, take them along, and get back into it. Great pics; glad you're safe. I remember I missed my SAT's from a ski accident at Hidden Valley (how can you NOT have a ski accident at Hidden Valley??...). Not fun. Anywhoo-love ya!

Funny- Here in Memphis, they advertise "Ski St Louis!! Ski Hidden Valley!!" all over the air. Radio shows give out winning tickets for party vans to Hidden Valley. I woundn't ski there if someone paid me to! I think its my southern obligation to debunk the myth- and tell the secret its really just a big hill with manufactured ice, and guarenteed slip & fall injuries. Hidden Valley fun- I agree Tiff!
